Mr Prasad, Separatists are ruling the roost in Kashmir
Exercise in self-deception

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: Union Law, Information and Technology Minister, Ravishankar Prasad has said that "separatists have been separated, alienated and shown the door". He made this untenable statement during his interview with a news channel overlooking the fact that the separatists are ruling the roost, organizing anti-India rallies in Kashmir and hoisting Pakistani flags in the Valley almost on a daily basis. Only a naïve could make a statement that "separatists have been separated, alienated and shown the door". He needs to visit Kashmir and stay there for a week or so to see with his own eyes as to what has been happening in Kashmir. He should know that the situation in Kashmir is highly alarming and that things there could take any turn.
Something is fundamentally wrong with the BJP leadership. It is blissfully ignorant about the prevailing situation in Kashmir. They are making ridiculous comments and statements. It is not only Ravishankar Prasad who exposed his ignorance by saying what he said about separatists in Kashmir. BJP national president Amit Shah has also made a laughable statement on Thursday overlooking the ground realities in the state in general and Jammu province in particular. He on Thursday commended the performance of the BJP in Jammu & Kashmir and said that "he could say on the basis of the performance that Kashmir problem would get resolved sooner than later". His statement that "he could say on the basis of the performance that Kashmir problem would get resolved sooner than later" must alarm the nationalist constituency not only in the state but across the country. For, the BJP might barter the sovereign interests in Kashmir to pamper Pakistan.
Amit Shah made these comments while participating in the Aaj Tak-sponsored programme, Manthan, to know the achievements or otherwise of the BJP-led NDA Government, which would complete one year in office on May 25. Significantly, he didn't make any comment or observation when told that the "situation in Kashmir was not normal, as the Pakistani agents were hoisting Pakistani flags in the Valley" at regular intervals.
Only the likes of Amit shah and Prasad could make such laughable statements at a time when the people of Jammu province are chaffing and condemning the BJP and its ministers and when the separatists are subverting the law of the land in Kashmir in the manner they like. The people of Jammu need to take note of the nasty statements made by the top BJP leaders and redesign their approach accordingly. Things are not inspiring either in the state or at the centre.
