Martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji observed with religious fervor

Jammu May 22: Martyrdom Day of fifth Guru of Sikhs, Shree Guru Arjun Dev ji was observed with religious fervor and devotion across the Jammu region and to mark the day, the Sikh Sangat thronged all the major Gurudwaras of the Jammu and offered special prayers.
The Gurdwaras at Nanak Nagar, Digiana, Rehari Chungi, Jain Bazar, Talab Tillo, Gole Gujral besides other places witnessed large gathering.
Chabeel's of cold and sweet water had been installed to offer cold water to the general public while some Langars too had also been organized at some places for the public by the management committees of Gurudwaras.
The main function was held at Gurudwara Chatthi Pathsahi Talab Tillo, Jammu in which thousands of Sikh devotees across the Jammu city and surrounding participated.
All District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Members, S Tarlochan Singh Wazir Chairman State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, Dr Pawan Kotwal Divisional Commissioner Chairman District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu, S Dalip Singh President, S Manjit Singh Secretary, Attar Singh Cashier, Harbhajan Singh Member, Ranjit Singh Member and others were also present in the function.
On this occasion Ragi Jatha Bhai Amandeep Singh Gurdwara Shri Sisgang, Bangla Sahib Delhi, Ragi Jatha Bhai Surjeet Singh Rasila Gurdwara Bangla Sahib Delhi and local Ragi Jatha District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu recited the Holy Gurbani and Parcharak Giani Bhagwan Singh Ji (Khouji) Chandigarh Wale also threw light on the life of Guru Arjun Dev Ji and his sacrifice for the cause of humanity and religion.
The Sikh Sangat gathered on this occasion passed resolutions demanding rehabilitation package after 1947 Pak Refugees, minority commission, Reservation atleast 2% in all the educational/technical institutions as also in employment on the pattern of the reservation given to the minorities of the other communities in the state as well as other states of the country and promotion of Punjabi language and dedicating road from Bikram Chowk to Univeristy as Guru Gobind Singh Marg, establishing chair in the name of Guru Gobind Singh in Jammu University and installation of statue of Great Saint Soldier of Baba Banda Singh Bhadur at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu.
