Jammu, May 22 : The Annual Investiture Ceremony of the Students' Council of Alexander Memorial School, Residency Road, Jammu, was today held at school campus. According to press release, Hon'ble Minister of Sate for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi was the chief guest while Senior BJP Leader Yudhvir Sethi was the Guest of Honour. Rev. Udai Singh, Presbyter-in-charge St. Paul's Church, Jammu, S.M. Gill, Ex. MLC Sneh Bali, National Vice President World Woman Awakening Organization, Gulshan Mahajan, Ex. Coorporator, ID Soni, Senior School Management Member and several other dignitaries also graced the occasion. Principal of school, Esther William, welcomed the "Chief Guest" and presented a bouquet to her. The Chief Guest presented the School Flag and the House Flags to the Head Boy, Head Girl and the House Captains respectively. After the customary prayer by Rev. Udai Singh; the school choir presented a welcome song followed by the Principal's Welcome address SK Munshi, School Co-ordinator delivered a brief speech regarding the former Principals after whom the four houses are named.
All the members of the Students' Council led by Master Riyaz the Head Boy and Miss Ishika Bhatti the Head Girl, took the Oath of allegiance, obedience and loyalty to the school and the country. In their short speeches they pledged to take the school to the pinnacles of new heights after which the Chief Guest decorated them with respective sashes.
The Chief Guest in her brief but impressive speech urged all the council members to perform the duties assigned to them whole-heartedly and to uphold the values of honesty, integrity and loyalty as vital qualities for positions of responsibility and dignity. Marshlaw, presented the vote of thanks and the colourful programme came to an end with the school band playing the National Anthem. |
