Who is stopping Govt. from probing multi crore Channi Himmat land scam? 5/26/2015 12:09:24 AM Early Times Report Jammu, May 25 : Ever since multi crore land scam in Channi Himmat has come to light the residents in the area are agitating and knocking at the door step of political leaders at the helm to intervene at the highest level and order a thorough probe to punish the guilty and save the green strip from getting encroached by the organised land mafia bent upon looting the green gold. Even the assurances and promises given by the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed to deliver corruption free governance have fallen on deaf ears. The deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh who is incharge of the Urban Development and Housing Department too has failed in his duty to at least order a thorough probe in the matter to set the record straight. Dr Singh depsite paying a personal visit to the spot more than two weeks ago is yet to formally announce a high level inquiry. According to official sources Dr Singh had directed the J&K Housing board and other agencies to submit the records pertaining to the alleged multi crore land scam s but so far the officers accused of brazen loot are occupying the high posts in the same department and may have been manipulating the office records to mislead the agencies to save their skin. The local residents of the Channi Himmat alleged that land grabbers are in sync with officers of the J&K housing Board and some of them enjoy close proximity of senior BJP leaders as well and it is for this reason the state govt headed by Mufti Mohd Sayeed is shying away from ordering a probe in the matter and indirectly shielding the corrupt officers and land grabbers.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
