35 wooden scants seized by Doda police, opium crop destroyed

Kishtwar, May 25: While putting a heavy hand on the forest smugglers, Doda Police has succeeded in seizing 31 scants of Kail and 04 scants of devdar from the possession of Mohammad Amin Malik Son of Ghulam Rasool Malik and Showket Ali S/O Nasirullah Shah Both R/O Seel Bandas Doda, a case FIR No. 81/2015 U/S 379/RPC 6./FA has been registered in P/S Doda, further investigation is in progress. In Seal Bandas area, Police teams also came to know that some persons of Seal Bhandas area had cultivated opium plantation for which, on request, Executive Magistrate 1stclass Doda, was called on spot and the opium crops cultivated by Mohammad Amin Malik Son of Ghulam Rasool Malik R/O Seel Bhandas was destroyed on spot and cultivator was also bound down by the Magistrate for his illegal cultivation of opium.
