Army intercepts infiltrators along LoC in Jammu & Kashmir | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 31: The Indian Army on Sunday intercepted a group of heavily-armed guerrillas in Kashmir's Kupwara district, triggering a fierce gun battle which is still raging on over the Line of Control (LoC). "Army troops intercepted a group of heavily-armed militants on the LoC in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district on Sunday morning," a senior police officer said. "When challenged, the militants resorted to firing at the troops resulting in a fierce gun battle that is still going on." The terrorists have taken up positions in three houses. Earlier this week, three jawans and a militant were killed on the LoC, with reports stating that a group of four to seven infiltrators had sneaked into the Indian side near the Darshan Post opposite Pakistan's Chhajula Post. |
