Jammu, May 31: Mohammad Ashraf Bukhari, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Agriculture Production Department, J&K reviewed the functioning of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Horticulture (Marketing & Planning) and Command Area Development Departments at Jammu today during a meeting. In the meeting, he dwelt at length on the timely implementation of various development schemes being run by respective departments. The aims, objectives, scope and nature of projects being implemented by the Departments were discussed in detail where in Bukhari stressed upon judicious and timely utilization of funds and desired that proper documentation should be done right from pre-execution (Planning) stage for formulation of realistic and comprehensive plans at Panchayat, Block and District level. He advised regular reporting of schemes; photographs of activities and progress of achievements through print and electronic media for vide publicity among the farming community. It was emphasized that the assistance envisaged for provision and actually provided to farmers should be put on public domain, so that the rightful claimants get the benefits in time and as per guidelines of the scheme. Dr. S. S. Jamwal, Director Agriculture, Jammu, Hemant Kumar Sharma (IAS), Director CAD, Jammu, A. K. Sharma, Director Horticulture, Jammu, Dr. Malik Farooq, Director Sericulture, J & K explained in detail the physical and financial achievements for the last 5 years and preparations for implementation of different programmes of the departments during the current year through Power-point Presentations. Dr. J. P. Sharma, Director Research, SKUAST (J), M. L. Chadgal, Addl Director, Sericulture, Mohammad Rafiq, Director (Finance) (APD), M. R. Mattoo, Director (Planning), APD, Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Joint Director Agriculture (Extension), Joint Director (SLUB), Joint Director (Fertilizer) also participated in the deliberations. |
