Jammu, May 31: The Sabre Brigade of the Rising Star Corps, in close coordination with the District Administration of Samba and Jammu, organized a free Medical, Dental and Veterinary Camp at Ratnuchak today. The camp was coordinated by Col Manish Gulia of the Sabre Brigade. A large number of locals from the area including members of the Gujjar and Bakarwal settlements, who have limited access to quality medical care, visited the camp to avail the facility. In addition to the medical resources of the Armydeployed at the camp, close coordination between the Army and State Health Board also saw active participation of the latter in terms of doctors and medical supplies. The facility of 09 doctors, including a Dentist, a Gynaecologist and a Veterinary Officer made it a unique venture, providing the people of the region a one point medical solution to their health requirements. The camp helped provide quality medical diagnosis and treatment to the poor and needy sections of the society and served to further strengthen the bond between the "AWAM" and the "JAWAN". Around 306 men, 269 women, 128 children and 295 animals were examined by the doctors. The Army took special care to cater for transportation of the Gujjar & Bakarwal families from distant corners of Jammu City to the Camp. Special care was taken by the Army to ensure all visitors to the camp were well looked after and provided refreshment etc. |
