KVK organizes farmers training programme | | | Early Times Report
Reasi , June 4: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu organised farmers training programme on sustainable agriculture and environment protection in rural areas in village Chamayara of Reasi district. More than 20 farmers participated in the programme. Dr.Banarsi Lal, KVK scientist, initiated the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. He gave detailed account of sustainable agriculture. He aware the farmers that with the indiscriminate use of agrochemicals our soil health and our environment has been deteriorated. He further narrated that soil health management is must for the sustainable agriculture. He made aware the farmers that our future is secure only when we will protect our soil and environment through eco-friendly practices. He further added that farmers should use the organic manures in their soil to make their soil healthy. He stressed on vermicompost and suggested that it should be used to protect the soil health which further will help to produce the healthy crops. He suggested the farmers that they can use vermicompost as an entrepreneurship. |
