Fooling themselves and party high command | Maha Sampark Abhiyaan, BJP-style | | Early Times Report jammu, June 4: The BJP high command last month announced that it would start Maha Sampark Abhiyaan (mass contact programme on mass scale) across the nation to popularize the party and expand its support-base by highlighting the achievements of the Narendra Modi government and the policies and ideology of the party. BJP has decided to launch mass contact programme in the wake of the criticism of the party and the Modi government and their conduct and failures. Announcing the programme, the party president Amit Shah said the party leaders would crisscross the nation and establish direct contact with those who took membership of the party through mobiles. He gave to understand that during the programme, party leaders would cover each and every active/newly enrolled members, visit their residences and greet them for joining party. On doesn't what kind of mass contact programme the BJP has started in the rest of the country, but one surely knows that the ongoing Maha Sampark Abhiyaan in Jammu & Kashmir is no more than a sham exercise. It is just an exercise in self-deception. It is, however, a different story that the state unit of the BJP, which is mortally afraid of facing the press these days as the party ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs have become objects of ridicule and contempt because they have been only dancing to the tunes of their Kashmiri masters, has been issuing press statements on the so-called Maha Sampark Abhiyaan. During the past few weeks, a couple of central BJP leaders also visited the state to see how the Maha Sampark Abhiyaan was being conducted by the local leadership. Interestingly, in the programmes which were organized by the local leadership, not a single non-BJP member participated. It was all party show, which also was very poorly attended. Interestingly, the in-charge of the programme and the party's IT Cell had invited many non-BJP persons to attend the programme, but none of them turned up for obvious reason. Who would go near the BJP which ditched the people of the Jammu province? There is no report till date from any part of the state that any BJP leader or a team of BJP leaders has met anyone outside the party by visiting his/her house. All of its activities have been indoor activities. On Wednesday, the party also organized one so-called Maha Sampark Abhiyaan. The organizers called it a day-long workshop on Maha Sampark Abhiyaan at the BJP's Digital Team Office at Rehari. Believe it or not but it is a fact that it was a purely party function, which was presided over by party's top leader , the "boss" and a few party activists. Interestingly, they patted each other for what they called a very successful programme. It appears the worried BJP leadership in Jammu & Kashmir is trying its own members not to quit the organization they worked for with devotion hoping it would fight for the Jammu cause as well as the national cause. It was time for the BJP workers to expose the likes of "top boss" and others of his ilk for destroying the party, but they contrarily patted themselves and the "boss" . It is clear that they are hankering after something. This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but with a whimper. |
