3-member committee visits Distt Jail Udhampur 6/4/2015 11:17:32 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: Upon the direction of High Court of J&K for conducting the inspection of the jails in the state a three members committee headed by Tahir Khurshid Raina (Addl Session jugde Doda ) today conducted the inspection of District jail at Udhampur and met the inmates/detenues. Accompanied with Advocate lmtiyaz Mir and Advocate Joginder Kumar Goswami, the committee head Tahir Khurshid Raina Addl Session jugde Doda, took a round of jail and interacted with inmates of jail. Superintendent District Jail Udhampur Rajni Sehgal led the team to different blocks of Jail. The detenues were individually interviewed by the members of team to know about the conduct of the Jail staff and the facilities provided to them. However there was no complaint received from inmates during the inspection. Meantime inmates complained about the irregularity of their being carried to the trial courts for hearings and also about the bad conditions of the vehicles carrying the detenues to the trial courts. The visitors also appreciated the running of IGNOU Center inside the Jail where different deteunes both under trials and convicts are being imparted education through distance mode.
