RKJ, JKAACL felicitate Prof Rita Jatendra in Jharokha

Jammu, June 4: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Radio Kashmir, Jammu jointly felicitated a renowned theatre activist, writer, educationist, actor and social activist Prof. Rita Jatendra former Secretary in a simple but impressive function at K.L Saigal Hall, Jammu under its regular series of interaction and felicitation programme entitled 'JHAROKHA'.
Shantmanu, Commisioner Secretary for Health and Medical Education was the chief guest while Anjali Sharma, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu presided over the function.
Usha Mahey, senior lady announcer and renowned stage artist, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL and V.K Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir were also present in the presidium.
Speaking on the occasion, Shantmanu congratulated Prof Rita Jatendra on being honored for her life time contributions in the field of art, literature and particularly threatre in Jammu. He also complimented the Radio Kashmir, Jammu and J&K Cultural Academy for initiating Jharokha serie. He further lauded the role of Prof Rita Jatendra for upliftment of women folk of the area.
While delivering her presidential address, Anjali Sharma, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu said that this joint venture of the Academy and Radio will not only provide an atmosphere where the legends of the region who have contributed their whole life in their respective fields will be honored but also provide an opportunity to youngsters to know about the works and contribution of the great personalities like Prof Rita Jatendra.
Earlier, delivering welcome address V.K Sambyal, Director, Radio Kashmir, Jammu said that Radio Kashmir, Jammu and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages has been doing this programme which is receiving overwhelming response.
Kiran Bakshi Prominent Hindi writer, critic and scholar read out detailed paper on the life and works of Prof. Reeta Jatindra.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presented vote of thanks and Dr. Rattan Lal Basotra, Asstt Editor Dogri of the Academy readout Citation on the occasion.
Prof. Reeta Jatindra also spoke on the occasion. In her speech she highlighted some important events of her life and after that the Stage was left open for the audience who have a healthy interaction.
Among others who were present include, Khalid Hussain, Hardeep Singh Gill, Kamaldeep Singh, Madan Rangila, Surinder Goel, Dr Baljit Raina, Sh Chhatterpal, Dr Nirmal Vinod, Prof Nirmal kamal, Sham Talib, Raj Bharti, Brij Mohan, Dr Kamal Sharma, Suraj Singh.
