JAMMU, June 4: 6th Inter Zonal Softball Championship in both the sections (Men & Women) was held at Anantpur (A.P.) 29th May to 31st May. The players in both the sections brought laurels for North Zone by defeating their rivals in the final.
In Men Section, the North Zone team defeated West Zone by 16 home to 14 home in a close contest. In the meanwhile, North Zone defeated South Zone by 10 home to 9 home in a thrilling contest in the Women section. The selection of players was made during the competitions held at Chandigarh on 7th & 8th of Nov. 2014.
The organizers conducted 03 days coaching camp at Delhi prior to the participation in North Zone Championship.
As stated by C. L. Bhat, Gen. Secretary, J&K Softball Association, 8 Men and 6
Women players participated in the tournament, which included Padam Dev Singh , Sandeep Singh, Sachin Singh, Ankit Bhat, Pardeep Kumar, Jasbir Singh, Ajay Singh and Sahil Thappa in the Men while Rashmi Bhau, Bipna Devi, Sonia Devi, Nayna, Alisha Slathia and Monika in Women Section.
The organizers are at job to find the talented and budding youth for their active participation at the national Level in future. |
