Theft graph increasing, property worth crores stolen, police clueless | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 4: Jammu police apparently seems to fail to put a curb on the growing thefts cases in Jammu district particularly in capital city, making the graph of thefts/burglaries growing day by day. Although, police claimed of activation of the nakas besides lifting of suspects, but all this is in vain as the burglaries continued to strike time and again putting police on its heels. Ironically police virtually have failed to crack the majority of various major thefts which took place recently. If recalled here these thefts sum up in whooping amount of crores and some of the major thefts which yet are to be solved and police is hitting about the buses include as under: On May 24,some unidentified barged into the house of a doctor which is situated in the 100 meter radius of police post and fled away with Rs 35 lakh cash and gold jewelry from Rehari area. As per complainant all the family members were sleeping on the first floor of the building and the burglars struck into the ground floor and escaped with Rs 35 lakh and gold jewellery weighing 38 tolas. The burglars once again have their day, and in another bizarre incident, the burglars broke into the house of an eminent businessman M/s Chuni Lal and Amarnath Sons at 31 Partapgarh Mohalla situated in the heart of the city of Jammu on May 27 and decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.25 Crores. The incident took place when family members had gone to visit one of their ailing family member, who was undergoing medical treatment after suffering a cardiac problem following the shocking death of their younger brother. A hapless senior police officer briefly said Had CCTV been there we might have got some vital clue to get a lead to crack the theft. And till today the police is still clueless in this theft. On June 1, a theft took place in the posh locality -Trikuta Nagar, when thieves who broke into the resident of one Joginder Saraf son of Nek Ram r/o Extn 4, Trikkuta Nagar and decamped with gold weighing 19 tolas. As per police, the burglary is learnt to have taken place when the family had left for New Delhi. This was followed by another day light theft on June 4, when a theft was reported at the residence of one Navid Mugal and property worth lakhs is reported to be stolen. Though as per routine affair the service of FSL was pressed in and a case stands registered in this regard but fate of this theft too is uncertain whether it will solved or not.
