Early Times Report JAMMU, June 17: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, reviewed the arrangements put in place for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra pilgrims in winter capital - the first base camp for the pilgrimage to the Himalayan cave shrine in South Kashmir. The Divisional Commissioner sought the suggestions and cooperation of Traders, social and religious organizations for providing effective and best possible facilities to the pilgrims in Jammu. He was chairing a joint meeting of officers and civil society members. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh, DIG Jammu Ashkoor Wani, I/C SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey and other concerned officers. The Divisional Commissioner discussed various matters with the Civil and Police administration and also sought suggestions from the members of the civil society to ensure timely arrangements for the annual pilgrimage. The Divisional Commissioner was apprised about the demands pertaining to opening of sufficient number of counters for current/fresh registration of yatries in the city. Making available information brochures with regard to yatra to the pilgrims at all conspicuous places on the way like Lakhanpur, Kunjwani chowk, Airport and Railway Station etc. They also demanded that sufficient buses should be arranged in time for the yatries and free transport/shuttle service should be made available from Bhagwati Nagar to Indra Chowk to enable yatries to take a round of the city.
