Burglars 'loot' Jammu, Police clueless | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 17: Jammu police seems to have utterly failed to curb the growing thefts in Jammu district as the graph is growing day by day and burglars are giving sleepless nights to Jammuites and have put the police on its heels. Though, police claimed of having activated news nakas besides lifting of suspects to douse the simmering anger brewing among the people and the victims of thefts, but all this is in vain. Though Police have registered all the cases while no breakthrough yet in this connection yet it is clueless to solve the cases as police in many cases have got leads till date. Hence police have failed to crack down the thefts which were reportedly recently and the burglars have decamped with cash and valuables amounting to crores. As per details, burglars recently have broke into seven houses and decamped with cash and gold items worth crores. Reports said that burglars targeted five houses in Baba Freed Nagar Seora falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station. Burglars decamped with around 5 to 6 lakh and gold items worth in lakhs from these houses. Media reports and police sources further maintained that the burglars also made futile attempt in two houses in same locality. Meanwhile, burglars also barged into a house in Dalpattian Mohalla. They said that owners of the house are in Srinagar and locals informed the police. In Gharota area, burglars escaped with 10 tola gold jewellery items and Rs 60 cash from the house of Krishan Lal. Meanwhile, on May 24, some unidentified barged into the house of a doctor which is situated in the 100 meter radius of police post and fled away with Rs 35 cash and gold jewelry from Rehari area. Police further said the complainant in his complaint stated that all the family members were sleeping on the first floor of the building and the burglars struck into the ground floor and escaped with Rs 35 lakh and gold jewellery weighing 38 tolas. May 27: In a bizarre incident, the burglars broke into the house of an eminent businessman situated in the heart of the city of Jammu and decamped with jewellery and cash worth crores of rupees. As per complainant burglars decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.25 Cr from the house of the eminent business family M/s Chuni Lal and Amarnath Sons at 31 Partapgarh Mohalla in walled city when the family members had gone to visit one of their ailing family member, who was hospitalized after suffering a cardiac problem following the shocking death of their younger brother.' On June 1, a theft took place in the posh locality -Trikuta Nagar, in which jewelry worth lakhs is reported to be stolen. As per reports, thieves who broke into the house of one Joginder Saraf son of Nek Ram r/o Extn 4, Trikkuta Nagar, and had decamped with gold weighing 19 tolas, police sources said. The burglary is learnt to have taken place when the family had left for New Delhi. On June 4, 2015, in a theft that took place at the residence of one Navid Mugal, and property worth lakhs is reported to be stolen. Though the Police have registered cases in all the above said burglaries but it is hitting about the bushes while the victims of thefts are just sitting with a hope on their fortune and destiny. |
