Jammu, June 17: Thanks to massive advertising of the national brands and the indifference of the state government, the local mustard oil brands are fetching Rs 300 less. But the rates of the local oil brands like Bhangra, Shree Ganga, Super Gold, Super Bhangra, Bharat are in between Rs. 1325-1400 per tin. He said that the quality, quantity of the mustard oil packed in tins and bottles of 10 and 5 liters is same but the local brands are getting Rs. 20 per liter of oil less than the national brands and the state government is silent over this discrimination. He further appealed the State Government, Legal Meteorology Department (LMD) to launch action against the adulteration of edible oils in the oil tankers, which according to him is done in other states and the officials posted at Lakhanpur Toll are allowing these oil tankers to enter into the state of Jammu and Kashmir getting heavy amount as bribe. Nikhil Sharma, a whole sale retailer of Warehouse Jammu, shared with Early Times that the 5 liters gallon of the national mustard oil brands like V Mark and P Mark has become costlier by Rs 100 as compared to its prices in the last month whereas there is no change in the rate of the local brands. |
