Minister miffed over not being named Chief Guest | Citizens Cooperative Bank Inauguration | | Abodh Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, June 17: Displeased over not being named as Chief Guest at a function in which Speaker of the legislative Assembly was also invited, Minister for Cooperatives undermined the achievements of his own institution while others in the audience praised its accomplishments and assured all help from the government in all its endeavous. Chering Dorjay, Minister Cooperatives, J&K, inaugurated computerization under CBS at Transport Nagar branch of the citizens cooperative bank in the presence of Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, and Sukhnandan Choudhary, Minister for Public Health Engineering and Irrigation & Flood Control, J&K. While both Speaker and the Minister or PHE were all praise for the achievements of the bank, the Minister incharge cooperatives was visibly upset and undermined the accomplishments of his own institution. "He was heard expressing his displeasure over not being invited as the Chief Guest" said a scribe covering the proceedings of the function. "He must realize that Speaker is placed higher in protocol than the ministers" he added. Both Sukhnandan Choudhary and Kavinder Gupta appreciated the efforts of the bank in extending services to the people across Jammu and assured full support to it from the government. Minister of Cooperatives emphasized the management of the bank to pay focus on the customers . "Now a days customer is the king" he exhorted upon to give hassle free banking services to the customers. An overview of the activities of the bank, areas of finance and time lag taken in sanctioning the loans was the main area of discussion. Minister appreciated that the Citizens' Cooperative Bank is the only fully computerized bank under Cooperative Sector operating in Jammu City and its peripheral areas having good reputation. |
