| BJP Minister's guard turns broker, acts as conduit; fixes rates for transfers, postings | | Another Kewal Krishan in making! | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 17: If Kewal Krishan, PRO to ex Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand made fortunes during the NC-Congress regime, a character similar to Kewal Krishan has surfaced in the present regime. Thanks to one of the senior BJP ministers who has reportedly given full authority and freedom to his security guard to interfere in sensitive matters of ministry. Ironically, he is just a simple police constable but on account of his maneuverability and smart moves he has managed to get close to a senior BJP Minister and he is making hay while sun is shining.
A simple constable of JKAP 4th security is not a new face in the power circles and corridors of civil secretariat. In the past he had managed good positions and got himself attached with powerful lobbies during the erstwhile NC-Congress rule.
Sources said on account of his powerful connections he initially managed to get him attached with the Chief Minister's grievance cell during NC-Congress rule. His games begun from that stint as he reportedly used to lodge fake complaints against civil and police officials and later exploit this by collecting money from them on the condition of withdrawing these complaints, sources said adding that during his posting in the high office he also misused his stint by minting huge money from the CM's Relief fund by presenting fake documents with fake names of his kin and relatives. However, his misdeeds got exposed somehow and following an enquiry the said cop was immediately detached from the CM's Grievance cell.
However, not the one to sit back the cop after a short gap of around 3 months again used his connections in politics and parent department and managed his attachment this time in the prestigious institution, no less than the Governor's House during the previous government. His trickeries and deceits did not click here for long and soon upon realizing the actual face and his character he was shunted out of this posting, sources said.
Again he did not stop here. He utilized his contacts and managed to get himself posted in the personal section of the then Minister of State for Home Sajjad Kicthloo. Interestingly, when the tenure of NC-Congress regime came to end, this cop did not report back to his parent department nor was he asked to do so.
His fortune making games took a twist yet again after formation of PDP-BJP government where he managed to get himself posted with the senior BJP Minister. In no time he managed good relations and proximity with the minister with whom, sources say, he spends the whole day.
The minister is also allegedly pampering him and allowing his uncalled interference in the ministry matters, particularly transfers of higher level officials. Sources said the said cop is acting as a conduit for money transactions in transfers and postings. The cop has allegedly fixed rates for the transfers of Executive engineers, AEEs and JEs.
The modus operandi is almost same as PRO of the Ex Deputy Chief Minister used to follow, said the sources.
He (the cop) may just be a constable by the designation but he is said to have amassed huge wealth allegedly by unfair means. He is said to have built a palatial bungalow in Domanna and owns three plots.
While he is making fortunes for himself, in the process he is only is only bringing a bad name for BJP which has been swearing about good governance and corruption free government. Before he inflicts more damage, would the concerned minister wake up? |
