| Drug peddler held with 500 gms charas | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, June 17: Kandi police in Rajouri district have arrested a drug peddler involved in the smuggling of Charas and was evading arrest for the last 7 years.
The accused have been identified as Mohd Fazilit, son of, Alif Din of Dharsakri village under the jurisdiction of Kandi police station.
Fazilit was booked by the police in case FIR No 12/2008 and police had recovered 500 grams charas from his possession. After legal formalities and detailed investigation police had also produced chalan against the accused in the local court.
As the accused left for Saudi Arabia, police couldn't produce the accused in the court during court proceedings and in the month of January this year court under section 512CrPC had directed the police to produce the accused in the court for further proceedings.
On Monday Kandi police from its reliable source came to know that Mohd Fazilit has returned to his village few days ago.
Under the supervision of ASP Tajinder Singh, a police party headed by SHO Kandi police inspector Mohd Younis, on the intervening night of June 15 & 16 conducted a raid in village Dharsakri and apprehended Mohd Fazilit from his residence.
He will soon be produced in the court, said a senior police officer. |
