DDC inaugurates Sulabh Toilet complex at Udhampur 6/17/2015 11:22:16 PM Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, June 17: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today inaugurated Sulabh toilet complex, here at Udhampur Bus Stand. The complex, completed at a cost of Rs 6.40 lakhs, was inaugurated in presence of Chief Executive Officer MC, Mr. Chalotra and civil society members. The Sulabh complex comprises two gents and one ladies toilet along with two urinals. On the occasion, the DDC appreciated the work done by the UMC for the welfare of the people and said the demand of opening a Sulabh complex in the town was pending since long. He said the facility created will be of great convenience for the locals and commuters who arrive and leave from the Bus stand to different parts of the state The DDC issued necessary instructions to Municipal authorities for the repair of old urinal and sanctioned Rs 2 lakhs for the same. He also asked the CEO Udhampur to ensure cleanliness at all public conveniences. The DDC directed CEO and Tehsildar Udhampur to identify more places within the town for construction of 8 to 10 more Toilet Complexes for the convenience of the public and prevent defecation in the open.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
