Katra, June 17: Continuing its drive against narcotics, drug peddlers and bootleggers in and around hokly town Katra, Police apprehended a drug peddler and a bootlegger in two separate incidents besides effecting 740 intoxicants capsules and 45 poly pouches of liquor J&K Excise respectively from their possession.
According to police spokesperson, on specific a input about movement of drug peddler Kuldeep Krishan, SHO P/S Katra under the supervision Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, KPS AddlSP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi laid a naka in Katra."
"The police team intercepted one pedestrian at Main Bazar Katra late last evening for his suspicious movements, police spokesperson said.
He added that during the frisking of above said accused identified namely as one Kuldeep Singh s/o Kartar Singh of Dharan Reasi police team recovered 740 capsules of Triocare 50 from his possession.
A case under FIR No. 98/2015 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered against accused and investigation of the case is in progress, police said.
Meanwhile in similar incident, on specific a input about movement of a bootlegger a team of police under the supervision Sumir Kotwal, Addl SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi laid a naka last evening.
"The police team apprehended one person identified namely as Kiran Kumar S/O Indru of Matyal, police said, adding, "during search of his belongings and personal frisking police recovered 45 poly pouches of liquor J&K excise measuring 250/250 ml each from his possession.
Police said that a case under FIR No.97/2015 U/S 48-A Excise Act and 188/RPC stands registered at P/S Katra and investigation is in progress. |
