JAMMU, June 17: The Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zafar Iqbal along with field staff on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Simrandeep Singh (IAS) and Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Soujanya Sharma (KAS) conducted a meat drive in the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Channi Himmat, Trikuta Nagar, Rail Head, Jewel, Gujjar Nagar etc. While checking quintals of meat, he discarded 11 kgs of unstamped/unhygienic meat at dumping ground Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu and fined defaulters with Rs. 7000/- for the same. "The drive will remain continue in near future against all the food establishments and the Shops running in the market are strictly warned and directed to ensure the supply of good quality of meat to the Citizens of Jammu City", he said. "Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to all the establishments/shops especially those dealing with meat to maintain hygienic environment within their premises and make available good quality/stamped meat to the consumers", he added. |
