Early Times Report Jammu, June 17: Resident Doctors Association (RDA), in a statement issued here today supported the Coordination Committee's stand for opening of AIIMS hospital in Jammu. General Secretary (Chairperson) RDA, Dr Akhil Gupta, Joint Secretary RDA, Dr Waseem Chouhan, Secretary, Dr Sonali, Senior member RDA, Dr Pawan were among the doctors who held a meeting here today to announce their support for the opening of AIIMS hospital in Jammu. Dr Akhil Gupta said that the need of AIIMS is more in Jammu as compared to Kashmir as far as the geography and topography of Jammu region is concerned. More health care facilities will be available in Jammu region after the opening of this superior hospital. "AIIMS is a 24 hour institute with trauma center where all the surgeries will be done by the learned doctors of the country. Further there is SKIMS Soura in Srinagar where aspirants can be trained but there is no such hospital in Jammu region", said Gupta. RDA appealed Dr. Nirmal Singh to consider the genuine demand of the people of Jammu region and establish the hospital in Jammu. |
