Early Times Report

Jammu, June 28: Aam Aadmi Party members today organized a peaceful protest against alleged prevailing mess in state health sector, in the premises of Jammu Press club.
According to press release, the protesters expressed their anguish deep disappointment on the total unsafe position of common people at the hands of multiple organized nexuses, under the patronage of defunct and corrupt political and administrative set-up.
The protesters were holding placards, which read as, "Food Safety Act Na Lagoo Kar Ke, Aam Aadmi Ki Zindgi Se Kab Tak Khelay Gi Jammu-Kashmir Ki Sarkar" & Jammu-Kashmir Ke Asaptaal Banay, JEE Ka Janjaal Ya Thagon Ki Chopaal". Prominent speakers, while citing examples said that it is a mockery on the part of our political/ruling class that failed to frame the needed anti adulteration Laws to curb the menace, rather provided protection to the people involved by deliberately not implementing the since long prepared draft of "Food Safety Act". Out gone NC-Congress coalition government of state was culprit in one way and present PDP-BJP coalition is on the other way for the deliberate promotion of adulterators, they added. They further said that despite repeated media exposures related to an open marketing of spurious drugs including supply of such drugs in government hospitals of state and GMC, Jammu, no stern action was ever taken against the culprits. While referring the recent raid of Director Health Jammu at sub-district hospital Banihal (J&K) where merely fine of Rs. 5000/- & Rs. 20,000/- was imposed against two involved officials for huge storage & supply of outdated medicines to patients, speakers criticized the health Directorate for its dummy existence and not registering the criminal case against the culprits under Sec.302 in police station. Sub-standard supply of drip sets & defective patient trolleys including Glucose reaction to patients had emerged as almost regular feature in GMC, Jammu emergency which is certainly a blot on the face of state government that is totally non- serious towards its citizens facing LIFE THREATS instead of LIFE CARE, speakers alleged.
