JAMMU, June 28: Mahant Bachiter Singh (MBS) Club lifted the title trophy of Ist Mahant Bachitter Singh Gold Cup Hockey Tournament outplaying Hirangar Nagar Hockey Club 2-0 in the final played at Government High School Simbal ground, near here today.
Jaspreet Singh converted a penalty corner into the net to take first lead for MBS Club in the 15th minute of the match. Leading by a goal in the first half, MBS improved the lead in the 37th minute. This time Ramandeep Singh sounded the board.
Randeep Singh was later declared man of the match and awarded with Rs 500 cash prize.
In the final and valedictory function, working president of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir and ADGP Armed, SM Sahai was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other individual prizes.
Prominent among others present were SP Headquarters, Randheer Singh and treasurer Hockey India, Rajinder Singh.
Earlier, the final officiated by the technical penal including Daljeet Singh, Jagjeet Singh, Joginder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Karanjeet Singh, GS Bakshi, Jaspreet Singh, Rajinder Singh and Kunwarpreet Singh Sagar. |
