No resident, Physician, male doctor in Health Centre: JYF
Demands Health center should be open 24 hours

Jammu, June28: The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) have taken a strong note against the health centre in the Campus and has lashed Jammu University authorities for not paying any attention towards Health Centre in the University campus saying it has become defunct due to non availability of staff.
Addressing a press conference, JYF General Secretary, Satpal Singh, said every year University collect lakhs of rupees in the shape of fee from the students for health facility. But, the money was not utilized properly. He said that Health Centre doesn't provide medicines besides; there are no male resident, Physician and male doctor in the Centre.
He disclosed that Health Centre has X-Ray Machine but don't have Machine operator, because of which the facility is unavailable to the patients. He also said that the Health Centre has Auto Analyser Machine but lack of Machine operator, for last two years machine gathering dust in health centre.
"The health center in the campus was lagging in every sense, only a female doctor was available in said institution, needed to strengthen the institution in favour of student community one male doctor should be appointed"' Singh Concluded.
He said that posts of staff mint for health center should be filled as early as possible and doctors should be made available round the clock.
He further said that health center should be functional 24 hours and as the students in the hostel have to suffer a lot due to non availability of doctors. He said it needs an early up gradation and proper regulation and well management for smooth running of health center in the campus.
A university a charge fee for the Health Centre but does not provide the facilities which mean the students are being duped.
Even, the first aid boxes have not been provided to the Departments, he added. He demanded complete inquiry into the utilization of funds by the Health Centre.
JYF appealed Chancellor NN Vohra to direct Vice Chancellor Jammu University for doctors should be made available round the clock; otherwise JYF would start agitation. Among those who were present in the press conference included Pardeep Kumar, Amit Kumar, and Sonu Sharma.
