Temple receives income of Rs 26.83 lakh last year | Sri Yantra temple at Lakshmi Narayan Mandir soon | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 28: Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu will soon have Sri Yantra temple. Work on this unique temple, first of its kind in Jammu, is apace. The Yantra made of nine metals including gold has been got prepared from Jaipur and will be installed with all rituals amidst recitation of mantras on an auspicious day shortly. The temple will have idols of 'navgrahas' (nine planets). Progress of this ambitious project taken up last year along with other improvement works was reviewed at a meeting of the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple Management Trust held here last evening. President of the Trust G S Charak chaired the meeting. Instructions have been issued to expedite the work on the temple and complete it by August this year. Over Rs 10 lakh have been spent on it last year and a provision of Rs 15 lakh has been made for its completion in current year's budget. One of the priests was deputed to Haridwar for special training in worshipping Sri Yantra. On completion, Sri Yantra temple would be a valuable and prestigious addition in Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir complex. The meeting also finalized arrangements for celebration of Krishan Janamashtmi falling this year on 5th September. It urged all members of the Trust and the residents of Gandhi Nagar to participate in Shobha Yatra being taken out every year on the eve of Janamashtmi, in large numbers. While reviewing income and expenditure of the Trust it was disclosed that it received a total receipts of Rs 26.83 lakh and registered expenditure of Rs 31.59 lakh during 2014-15. |
