Burglars break into hotel at Kud, decamp with cash, jewellery of 3 tourists | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 28: Three tourists, including a judge, were deprived of their cash and jewellery after burglars broke into Hotel Subash, situated on the National Highway at Kud, in the wee hours of Saturday. The incident was caught in the cameras installed in and around the hotel premises and on the basis of CCTV footage, police is investigating the theft. The thieves made their entry into the hotel from balcony and then began a search for cash and jewellery of the tourists who were staying in different rooms. As per sources, the thieves escaped when a tourist raised hue and cry while they were making searches in their room. As per rough estimate, the cash and jewellery worth Rs 9 lakh had been stolen from the three rooms of the hotel, police sources said. Soon after having information, a police team rushed to the spot. A FSL team was also pressed into service which took samples and fingerprints from the scattered goods in the rooms. One of the aggrieved customer namely Kamal Sharma said that it should be the responsibility of the hotel management to reimburse the amount the thieves have stolen. In fact the hotel was running without security cover as no security guard was deployed for the safety and security of the customers. Meanwhile, a senior police officer when contacted said that a case in this connection has been registered and investigation was in progress.
