Srinagar, June 28: The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated district in charges for organizational purposes for Kashmir valley and Ladakh region as an adhoc arrangement till party elections. The nominations were accorded by party president Mehbooba Mufti as per the party constitution today. Former trade union leader turned politician Mohammad Khurshid Alam, will head the Srinagar district, Advocate Javaid Ahmad Anantnag, Nazir Ahmad Laway, MP, Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, MLA, Shopian, Abdul Gani Dar Pulwama, Raja Aijaz Ali Baramulla, Mir Fayaz Ahmad, MP, Kupwara, Yasir Reshi, MLC, Bandipora, Muntazir Mohiuddin Badgam, Bashir Ahmad Mir Ganderbal, Tashi Gyalson Leh and Kachu Gulzar Kargil. The party president has dissolved all party units to pane the way for party elections as per the party constitution, a party spokesman said here. He said that party elections will be held in due course of time after the exercise of the constitution of basic units at gross root level including blocks and zones is completed. He said that the interim arrangement became necessary to look after the organizational work including constitution of basic units and membership drive that is a usual practice with the organization. |
