Main focuses to widen tax base: IT Commissioner 7/16/2015 11:30:11 PM Early Times Report Jammu, July 16: Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu Sangeeta Gupta, IRS said that main augment of the department is widening of tax base which is a top priority of the Action Plan framed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes for the financial year 2015-16 and is being monitored by the Prime Minister of Indi Narendra Modi. Interacting with media persons, Gupta said an awareness camp is being organized in Katra on 20.07.2015 from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm. She said it is observed that there is a huge gap between the PAN holders and actual income tax assesses filing returns. There are many small/medium traders who are not filing their income tax returns. The camp is being organized to motivate these assesses to contribute their bit in nation building by voluntarily filing their income tax returns so that the huge gap between the persons holding PANs and actual assesses filing income tax returns can be minimized.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
