Tainted inspector turns Dabang, suspended | | | Sumit Sharma Early Times Report JAMMU, July 16: A tainted police inspector was placed under suspension after he turned Dabang and offered his resignation to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Udhampur district. Sources told Early Times the Dabang inspector entered into the office of the SSP Udhampur Suleman Salaria and demanded that he be posted as the Station House Officer at any police station on the National Highway. The inspector, Javed Ahmed was attached to DPL Udhampur from Reasi nearly five months ago, after entering into SSP's office threw his official cap on his table and allegedly misbehaved with his superior, sources said. They said the SSP asked him to behave but the inspector lost his cool saying, "Enough is enough, either post me as SHO in a police station on National Highway or accept my resignation." He shouted so loudly that his screams were heard outside the office chamber of the SSP. After displaying his attitude, the said cop left SSP's office leaving him stunned. The SSP brought the matter into the notice of his immediate bosses, including DIG Udhampur Surinder Gupta and IGP Jammu Danesh Rana and accordingly, the action was taken against the erring cop. Meanwhile, a senior police officer when contacted said the Inspector was not posted in police station keeping in view his past record, though he (inspector) tried his best to put political pressure on the senior police officers. However, official sources said the inspector in question has been placed under suspension on many occasions in the past also. He had to be removed from the national highway when he was serving in traffic department as DTI as truckers and private tour operators filed written complaints against him for demanding money from them. |
