Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 16: Continuing drive to clear the encroachments on forest land, the Forest Department authorities today got 62 Kanals of forest land vacated during an anti-encroachment drive conducted in Rang area of Ramnagarof Udhampur district. According to official spokesperson, the drive was carried out by a team constituted by Divisional Forest Officer, Ramngar, Vivek Modi under the guidance of the Conservator of Forest, East Circle, Jammu. "Led by Range Officer, Ramnagar South Range, Satish Kumar the sleuths of forest department visited compartment 49/S at village Rang of Ramnagar and removed the encroachment, he said. Spokesperson said that team removed the barbed wire and brush wood fencing put up by encroachers Shanker Singh S/O Bhagat Ram (30 Kanals) and Sudesh Singh s/o Magar Singh (32 Kanal), both residents of Mohra Malti, Village Rang of tehsil Ramnagar. According to DFO, Ramnagar the staff of Forest Department, despite stiff resistance, succeeded in retrieving 62 Kanals of forest land and action under J&K forest Act will be initiated against the encroachers. |
