Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 5: The Jatt Kaka Cricket Club (JKCC) today entered into the final of the ongoing Shaheed Bhagat Singh Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Government Higher Secondary School, Satwari Cantonment, here. In the semifinals, JKCC defeated Gandhi Nagar Cricket Club (GNCC) on the basis of better average in first six overs of the play. (Likewise in one of the quarterfinals, rains interrupted the game in the 12th over with the result organizers decided the fate of the game considering better average) Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, JKCC set a target of 184 runs for nine wickets. Chamkor remained top scorer with 39-ball 52 runs while Puneet faced mere 17 deliveries to contribute 45 runs. From GNCC, Binder took three wickets, followed by Bunty and Kaka, who shared two each. In reply, GNCC were batting at 69 for seven in 12 overs when the game was stopped due to rains. Considering first six overs play, the match was awarded in favour of JKCC. When the play stopped, Sachin (18) and Kaka (10) were at the crease. Dheeraj was other main scorer with 15 runs in his account. From JKCC, Ankush bowled brilliant spell taking away four wickets. Monu, Gora and Raja shared apiece each. Later, Anksh was declared man of the match. Today's semifinal was officiated by Aman Cheema and Raman Isher as umpires while Pankaj Khajuria was scorer. |
