Sena MP to give Rs 5 lakh to 2 men who nabbed Pak militant; J&K Govt silent | JKNPP questions official theory on Udhampur attack | | Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 6: While a Shiv Sena MP Rajkumar Dhoot has announced an award of Rs 5 lakh for the men who apprehended the Pakistani terrorist in Udhampur on Wednesday, the state government maintains silence over the issue. Neither the Jammu and Kashmir police's top brass nor any minister in the coalition government has issued any statement to hail the brave hearts. What the government did, however, was to appeal to the Centre to award the two men. Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh talked to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over phone and batted for award to the two brave hearts who along with members of Village Defence Committee (VDC) apprehended the Pakistan terrorist, official sources said. Rakesh Kumar and Vikramjeet, along with three other youth, were held hostage by Pakistani terrorist while he was fleeing after attacking a BSF convoy. They fought with the terrorist and captured him with the help of a few VDC members. In the Udhampur attack, two heavily-armed terrorists believed to be from Pakistan, had ambushed a convoy of BSF personnel and opened fire in which two constables and a militant were killed while another terrorist was caught alive in a manner identical to the nabbing of 26/11 Mumbai attacker Ajmal Kasab. The Deputy Chief Minister also raised the matter with Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who directed state Home Secretary to ensure that the duo is awarded. Meanwhile, JKNPP chief Bhim Singh has said that he is not convinced by "the story floated by the government agencies" about the Udhampur attack. In a statement here Singh raised certain questions. Singh asked: "How the terrorists managed to cross in entire Valley over to the skirts of highly managed army zone around Udhampur Military Headquarters of Northern Command? "How the terrorists carrying heavy explosives and guns managed to cross the LoC from Kupwara and then sail safety through the Banihal Tunnel to Udhampur? "Where did they stay and who looked after their movement during their stay in Kashmir Valley and Jammu? Who arranged their guides and who were the guides? "Does the smiling terrorist speak Kashmiri or Pahari or Punjabi or Urdu? "Did the terrorist caught tried to resist when surrounded by the local villagers? "Was his gun loaded at the time of his surrender? If he had, what made him to hand over his loaded guns to his enemies? "Can anybody imagine that die heart terrorist trained in Pakistan to sabotage like India could be tide with string like a cat and pull from the top hill to the road side by unarmed villagers? "Did this incident divert the entire intention of the Jammuites from the fight for AIIMS towards fight with Pakistan?" |
