Bandh call suspended for relief of people: AIIMS CC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 6: AIIMS Coordination Committee today made it clear that the unprecedented and total bandh observed by the people of entire Jammu region for six consecutive days has given a very clear cut message to the government that the people will not rest till the establishment of full-fledged AIIMS in Jammu. To decide the further course of action with only one and one target of establishment of full-fledged AIIMS in Jammu, AIIMS CC will hold a meet at High Court Bar Complex on Saturday at 11 a.m. AIIMS CC chairman appealed to all the constituents to be present at the meet, which would take the final call on future course of action. Thanking people of Jammu Province for bearing all hardships, inconvenience, harassment, and intimidation by the government in making the Bandh call a huge success, chairman of AIIMS CC and President JKHCBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma said that the Committee had relaxed the Bandh call taking into consideration the interests of each and every section of the society particularly the children, students and those poor sections who depend on their daily earnings for meeting their day to day ends. He further added that government could not provide us any satisfactory answer to our queries but repeatedly pleaded us to have faith in their intentions because every important person of the government, the chief minister the deputy chief minister, the cabinet ministers and spokesmen have repeatedly committed themselves to the establishment of full-fledged AIIMS in Jammu. "This is the last chance to the government and particularly to the BJP to prove themselves true to their words. We have no fight with any political party. We do not pursue any political vested interest in leading this agitation. Our goal is that the discrimination against Jammu has to stop. Our aim is that AIIMS has to be established in Jammu and there is no compromise on that", Abhinav Sharma pointed out and cautioned BJP leadership for misinterpreting the relaxation in Bandh call as their victory. They chose to misunderstand us when we deferred the three day long Bandh call of June 20th on the written undertaking by none other than the deputy chief minister Dr Nirmal Singh and the cabinet Minister Bali Bhagat. |
