ABVP castigates Govt for giving weightage to Urdu in NT exams | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 6: Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has criticized the government decision to include Urdu as compulsory descriptive paper for Niab Tehsildar posts. Addressing a press conference, ABVP State Secretary Rahul Dev Sharma condemned government decision to include Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper with a weightage of 30 marks in recent syllabus. He said, "Why Urdu is made mandatory only to Naib Tehsildar and not for Tehsildar and other revenue officers who qualify KAS. The KAS, appointed to such posts performs their work as well as their duty well, even though they have not qualified such Urdu paper as referred for Naib Tehsildar." "We demand make changes in the syllabus and eliminating Urdu as a compulsory descriptive paper. He added Government will promote particular a language this will not be tolerable, he said in 2009 when Naib Tehsildar syllabus was announced making Urdu as compulsory that to was harshly censured by the ABVP after that the government roll backed the decision by removing Urdu as a compulsary subject and if govt. will not make change in syllabus ABVP must take strong action against this and government will be responsible for that", he said. ABVP called for state wide protest against introduction of Urdu language in Naib Tehsildar entrance examination test at all District Hq places on (Monday), 10th of August 2015. |
