Cop on leave found dead under mysterious circumstances | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 6: Police today recovered the body of a policeman under suspicious circumstances in a forest in the upper reaches in Mendhar of Poonch here this morning. Police have registered a case in this regard. As per police sources the deceased has been identified namely as Mohd Aslam s/o Allha Ditta of village Bhatadharian under the jurisdiction of Police Station Mendhar who was on leave for 10 days. Sources said that the deceased was serving with 8th Battalion JKAP (belt No 690,E-Company) and presently was posted at Ganderbal in Kashmir Valley. Quoting family members, Police sources said that the deceased had gone to pasture namely Ganja Pardhi on Wednesday to collect fresh fodder (grass) for the live stock. "Some villagers had also gone to pasture on noticing the body reported the matter to police," sources said and added that a police team rushed to the spot and took the custody of body besides collecting circumstantial evidences from the crime spot." Later police today brought the body to Mendhar for postmortem and for other legal formalities while a case under inquest proceedings u/s 174CrPC stands registered. Meanwhile Dr Parvaiz Ahmed, BMO Mendhar has constituted a team of doctors to conduct the postmortem. He said that after physical verification it reveals that the deceased might had died due to head injury but conformation will be done after postmortem. "Besides head injury multiple injuries were also seen on the face, back and left forearm and blood was also oozing out of the nose, he added. SDPO Mendhar S Nayeem said that police have started inquest proceedings u/s 174 CrPC as the deceased was found dead under suspicious circumstances. |
