| Mother alongwith minor girl buried alive as wall collapsed | | | Jammu, Aug 6 : In a tragic incident a woman and her minor daughter reportedly died on spot after a wall collapsed on them after incessant rains on Thursday morning. "The deceased have been identified as Parwati Dewi wife of Santosh Kumar and a minor girl namely Ragini (07 months), police said. As per reports, the incident took place near Jehlum Resorts where some slum dwellers were living in a open piece of land. "When the lady was busy in her daily chores the compound wall caved in upon their hutment burying the women and her minor daughter alive," reports said, adding. " the neighbours rushed to the help to lady but it was too late, they added. Local police also rushed to spot which after completing legal formalities and postmortem handed over bodies to their relatives for last rites. Meanwhile, Gandhi Nagar police have registered a case u/s 304 A RPC against the owner of the piece of land namely Ravail Chand for his negligence.
A senior police officer further said that the deceased lady earlier had requested owner many a times to re-construct the wall as the existing one was weak.
