Parivartan conducts plantation drive

Jammu, Aug 21 : Continuing their effort towards greening Jammu, the Parivartan NGO reached out at the Government school, Khanna Chargal and launched a plantation drive here today. To make environment free from pollution and to educate the people on the benefits of a healthy society, the Parivartan NGO organised a tree plantation drive in which more than 200 students and staff members of the government school Khanna Chargal participated. The drive was carried out under the supervision of headmaster of the school, Vijay Bhasin during which senior BJYM leader Karan Sharma was the chief guest. The drive involved the planting of various indigenous saplings having medicinal and aesthetic value appropriate to the local environment and was an attempt to educate the students to create and maintain a pollution free environment.
Through this campaign, the students of the school were not only involved in a healthy exercise but it also made them learn about team work and filled them with a sense of responsibility, love and compassion. Addressing on the occasion, Karan Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Parivartan NGO and encouraged the students to involve themselves wholeheartedly in the plantation drives from time to time around the year.
Earlier, President of the Parivartan, Vikas Sharma talked about the importance of such plantation drives which play a vital role in rural and urban populations and said their NGO has started the project 'Go Green" under which their NGO had been organising camps at different locations. So that the Jammu city will become more and more green with the help of these plantation drives.
Among other present during the event included Sarpanch Karpal Singh, Ex Panch Naseeb Singh, Ved Pal, Mohinder Singh. On the occasion the members of Parivartan team including Rajinder Singh General Secretary, Udhay Bhaskar, vice president, Vishal Targotra Treasurer, Sahil Sharma Head IT cell, Munish Singh Jamwal, Sandeep Manhas and Rohit Sharma were also present.
