JK-MGNREGAA employees protest, demand early release of salaries 9/1/2015 11:17:17 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Sept 1: All J&K MGNREGA Association (JK-MGNREGAA) today held a protest demonstration against Rural Development Department (RDD) outside Office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur to highlight their long pending demands including release of pending salaries Led by Karpal Singh Disst President All J&K MGNREGA Association, the protestors started their protest march from Adarsh Coloney Udhampur and after passing through different bazaars the protest march finally reached near office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.Addressing the protestors, Karpal Singh said that around 200 employee are working in Udhampur District in different category including GRS, Tech Asstt, Computer Operator, Programme Officer, Accountant, Social coordinator on contractual bases since 2008 and onwards. He said during the previous regime a deputation of their association called on concerned minister several times and took up their demands including regularization, release of salary on every month, enhancement of salary and implementation SRO -255 dtd. 5/8/2003 & PR of 2014 Dt. 26-03-2014 in toto but all in vain. He reiterated that they too should be regularizes on ReTs and ReZs pattern after completion of their five year service. He said over 70% of M-G NREGA employees have completed five year service and the should be regularized at the earliest. He also urged the Minister for RDD to take immediate steps for the regularization of these employee who have completed five year of their service.
