How murder was shown as militancy case to secure job | | | Avinash Azad Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 1: A man in south Kashmir's Shopian district has been accused of presenting the murder of his step father as a militancy-related death to secure a Government job under SRO-43. Mohammad Aslam Shah, of Babnar-Tukroo, Shopian was found hanging from a tree in an orchard at village Marhang, Pulwama on November 16, 1998. He was aged 30 and a bachelor. An FIR was lodged in police station Pulwama and investigation started in the case. But due to the lack of evidence the case was closed as 'untraced', sources said. They said the deceased had friendly terms with one Bashir Ahmad Shah of the same village. "Bashir had a lone son Javid Ahmad Shah. Immediately after the death of Aslam, Bashir took his mother and brothers into confidence and hatched a conspiracy with them and grabbed the property of Aslam," said sources. "It was decided by them that the land of Aslam will go to Bashir's brothers, while SRO benefit be given to Bashir's son Javid by showing him the adopted son of the deceased," they said. As reported by Early Times on Tuesday, the age of Aslam at the time of his death was 30 years and that of Javid 22 years. How was it possible that a 30-year-old would adopt a 22-year-old adult person? "Javid was appointed as a Sub-Inspector in the Excise and Taxation Department," said sources. "Obviously, Javid got the job by fraudulent means." |
