Explosive material recovered on Jammu-Srinagar highway | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 1: Explosive material was recovered on Tuesday on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. "A road-opening party of CRPF found an explosive TNT slab on the national highway in Kheri area of Udhampur district today (Tuesday)," a senior police officer told . The police official said the TNT slab may have been left behind after it was used for highway clearance. The Jammu-Srinagar highway is prone to landslides, which block the route, triggered due to rains and snow, mainly in winter. The 300-kilometre-long Jammu-Srinagar highway is the only surface link of the landlocked Kashmir Valley with the rest of India and all essentials of life are routed through this road. |
