Mill raided, expired porridge, other items meant for Govt supply seized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 1: following complaints in regard that some business entrepreneurs resorting to wrong practices to male easy money, police today conducted a raid at Durga Dal Mill Trikuta Nagar in presence of 1st Class Magistrate and seized expired porridge (Dalia) packets other eatable items which were meant to be sent to the children in Aanganwadi centres under government supply. "Accused- the owner of the mill namely Sudesh Kumar s/o Tara Chand R/o Channi Himmat was arrested on the spot," police said. Police sources said, after receiving reliable information, a police team led by SDPO East Rafiq Manhas, accompanied with SHO Trikuta Nagar Naveen Angral ,I/C PP Narwal Vishal Kumar under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Rajiv Panday raided in Durga Dal Mill in the presence of 1st Class Magistrate Bashir Ahmed." "During raid, police found 500 bags containing expiry date dalia packets(each bag contain 25 dalia packets),156 bags containing dalia bags having modified/manipulated manufacturing dates, stamp using for writing dates on packets and chemical used for erasing old manufacturing/expiry date, police said. "The seized material including dalhi packets were subject to be supplied for Anganwadi children under government supply, police maintained. Police said that a case under FIR no.211 u/s 420,272 RPC ,3/7 Essential Commodity Act stands registered against the accused at P/S Bahu Fort and further investigations are on. |
