KVK organizes training programme 9/1/2015 11:56:33 PM Early Times Report Reasi, Sept 1: Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu today organized training programme on sustainable agriculture and environment protection for rural development here at village Kanjli of Reasi district. More than 30 farmers participated in the programme. Dr.Banarsi Lal, scientist initiated the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. He elaborated all about the sustainable agriculture and environment protection for rural development. He narrated that we should focus on sustainable agriculture by incorporating eco-friendly agri-techniques. He suggested the farmers that by growing organic crops they can fetch more prices. He stressed on the organic vegetable growing and said that vegetable growing has immense scope in certain pockets of Reasi district. He guided the farmers for vermicompost unit making techniques and suggested that by producing the vermicompost they can keep their soil health intact. Dr. Suja Qureshi, scientists stressed on organic fruit production and gave technical guidelines on advance horticulture to the farmers.
