JAMMU, Sept 16: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade clinched the overall championship trophy in Judo in the ongoing annual inter-college competitions, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Gymnasium Hall, here today.
Another city women's college of GCW Gandhi Nagar remained runners-up securing second highest points in the medals tally.
Senior faculty of JU, Prof. Parmeshwari Devi awarded the title trophy to GCW Parade in the presence of Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau.
Also present were Sumnesh Sharma, Narayani Jamwal, Physical, Suman Sharma, Amit Sharma, Jaswant Singh and Raj Kumar Bakshi. This event held under the supervision of incharge, Jai Bharat and conducted by Suraj Bhan Singh, Vikas Dogra, Arshi Nad and Varinder Sharma.

BASKETBALL: The combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments shall be playing against Government College for Women (GCW) Parade in the final of inter-college women's basketball tournament underway at MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, PG Departments defeated Government SPMR College of Commerce 20-10 while GCW Parade outplayed GCW Gandhi Nagar 21-04.
Today's semifinals were officiated by the technical penal including Aman Sharma, Manoj Kumar, Hearpreet Singh, Sumit Dogra and Rajesh Bhagat.
KHO-KHO: In the ongoing inter-college women's kho-kho tournament, GDC Akhnoor defeated Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur 03-02 in a low scoring game. Anil Sharma, Anil Kumar, Mohd Israr and Ankush Sharma were officials. Gagan Kumar is event incharge. |
