Katra, Sept 16: Celebrating the spirit of pride of the Hindi language with a view to boost and promote the language, the Board of Students' Publications of SMVDU started Hindi Pakhwada 2015 as a series of activities going to be held for a fortnight. The event kick-started at the home venue Lecture Theatre-A with a jam-packed audience of teachers, students, staffs and dignitaries. A pool of events are being organized to categorically underline the beauty, the grandeur and the largeness of the very language ranging from Hindi Paragraph Reading to essays, debates, poetry and other literary events. The celebrations kicked off on 14th September, 2015 with Hindi Pitch Competition, which would last for about couple of weeks with events as Plantation Drive, Essays and debates over the coming days. The Vice President of the Board Dr AK Dwivedi delivered a keynote address to the gathering, while inaugurating, regarding the journey and essence of the same. He highlighted the role, the language played during the freedom movement and how it acts as a connecting link among communities with 2/3rd of Indian's speaking Hindi and being the world's second largest spoken language. He also lamented over the language losing its sheen in rage of westernization and its relegation to a place of secondary importance. |
