Jan visits shelling victims in GMCH | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 16: Senior National Conference leaders visited the Pak shelling victims of Sabzian village near Line of Control in the forward Poonch District at Government Medical College Hospital and enquired about their condition. While wishing the injured immediate recovery, State Secretary Thakur Rachpal Singh, Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan and Provincial Office Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed interacted with the injured, one of whom has lost his both the hands, and expressed solidarity with them. Taking exception to the callousness of the State Government, Ajaz Jan expressed anguish for non-payment of any interim relief or ex-gratia by the State government to the shelling victims. He said but for the Red Cross, which paid them Rs 5000 each, the government has shown apathy and insensitivity to such a grave human problem. Rachpal Singh and Jan castigated the PDP-BJP Government for ignoring the border dwellers, saying their callousness is going to boomerang, as the people braving brunt in forward areas were nurturing the feeling of being left in lurch. They sought immediate disbursement of compensation to all the injured and ex-gratia to next of kin of those killed in the shelling from across the border. They also sought free specialized treatment of the injured. |
