Court rejects bail of self-styled 'Baba', associate | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 16: 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu, Bala Joyti today recjected the bail application of Mohammad Irfan, son of Noor Mohammad alias Sufi Aladin Ajmer Wale Baba of Dulana in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, and his associate Mohammad Shamim, son of Mohammad Nanya of New Delhi who were arrested by Bus Stand police for duping innocent people. The accused, who had been cheating public on the pretext of curing all types of problems including love affairs and matrimonial disputes, through magic power through a unique modus oprendii by rotating an earthen pot on glass by using silk thread (which visitor believes that it rotates by some spiritual power)," police maintained. The duo have been booked by police under sections 420 and 295-A of RPC. The court, after hearing the two sides, observed that the tentacle of offence charge against the accused is possibly spread all over the state and the investigation is still in infancy stage and they must get sufficient time to complete investigation. The court observed that releasing the accused on bail at this stage is sure to prejudice fair investigation and possibility of accused being not available during trial is also imminent as the accused are outsiders. The offences against them are against public policy and public interest. With these observations, the court rejected the bail application of the accused. (JNF) |
