Transformer snag: Banpuri area without water power supply for 2 days | | | Neeraj Sharma. Early Times Report
Sunderbani, Sept 16: Residents of Banpuri of Sunderbani Rajouri district have been complaining about acute shortage of safe drinking water after transformer in area got burnt leaving people without power for the last 2 days. Locals alleged despite several appeals, Public Health Engineering (PHE) officials seem to be too deep in slumber to mitigate their problems. Locals alleged they have received only hollow promises from PHE officials concerned, but have yet to get a drop of safe drinking water. People in area now are dependent upon natural resources and are being forced to drink contaminated water from these natural resources. Alleging negligence on the part of the PHE staff, locals claimed that attention has not been paid to their genuine demands. Agitated over shortage of water, locals alleged since the transformer of area got a snag the water supply has been snapped in Banpuri and its adjoining areas. People of the village are facing lot of difficulties due to no light. Two days passed, but the transformer was not handover for further repairing. Ex. Sarpanch Lok Nath sudan, Mangat ram, Surinder kumar, Dev raj, tilak raj, Dhani ram, etc said that PDD officers have not given proper attention to their problem and they are being forced to agitate. They appealed to PDD Sunderbani to take suitable actions immediatly and replace the burnt transformer and provide light to the villagers. |
